Frequenly asked questions about laser hair removal

Laser energy is delivered through a small handpiece. The laser delivers an intense beam of light, which is absorbed by the hair follicle and converted to heat. The heat damages the hair follicle while the surrounding tissue remains unaffected. Your skin may be red immediately following the procedure. This typically lasts from a few minutes to several hours after the procedure.
It is impossible to remove 100% of every single follicle in a given area as hair growth is a continuous process from your body but the good news is you will gain an outstanding permanent reduction. After your treatment, most of your body areas will have no hair and some will have sporadic light hairs remaining, you will notice an incredible change, the thick and rough hair will soon be soft and light. This remaining hair will be targeted on your next top up sessions that we recommend you keep having once/twice a year.

As we are all genetically very different, laser hair removal could vary the results from one person to another depending on the combination of different factors like colour and diameter of hair, skin type, time between sessions, etc. While there are cases achieving the desired results at the 6th session there will be other cases that will need 9 to 12 instead.

Laser hair removal is a very safe treatment as it is carried out only by certified professional therapists with a medical grade laser FDA approved equipment. Before you are able to start your treatment, we carry out a consultation and a patch test.During the consultation process we run a check with you about your personal case and we answer all your questions. It is extremely important that you provide us all the information in a truthful and accurate way to ensure the treatment will be safe and effective. After the consultation, we perform a laser patch test targeting your selected area with 3-4 laser shots to make sure we know how your skin will respond to the treatment. After 24-48 hours, if there is no reaction on the area, you can then start your treatments.
For a women’s body area the average is 6 – 10 sessions. For a women’s facial area the average is 10 – 12 sessions. For men’s body area the average is 10 – 12 sessions. For men’s facial area the average is 10 – 14 sessions. You MUST wait AT LEAST 6 weeks between each session to allow the remaining hair to grow back so we can target it on the following session.
Yes, we treat all skin types.
Laser works as it is attracted to the pigment in the hair follicle. The darker the hair the better the results. Unfortunately laser does not work on blonde or red hair as they contain no pigment.
